Served at sea as Chief Engineer in a reefer/cargo vessel and
ashore as Senior Superintendent Engineer for small tankers and
offshore supply vessels.
Exclusive surveyor to Lloyd's Register of Shipping. Non-exclusive
surveyor to American Bureau of Shipping, Registro Italiano Navale,
Korean Register, Panama Bureau of Shipping, Bahamas Government
and The Salvage Association.
Offshore industry experience since 1974.
Full Member of The LMAA. Also has extensive experience in the
English High Court and in arbitration disputes as an expert
witness. Has also given evidence in Greece, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Master Mariner Foreign Going (Class 1). Chartered Arbitrator.
Diploma in Arbitration. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of
Arbitrators, Member of the Nautical Institute, Dynamic Positioning
Operators Certificate.
At sea in general cargo ships for twelve years. Fifteen years
in the offshore industry as Master. Took part in the formation
of standards for the operation of dynamic positioned diving
vessels. For seven years was senior Master and responsible for
training.
Marine consultant since 1987, including working as a surveyor
and as P & I Club representative at casualties, ship losses
and a wide range or general average cases. Two years were spent
as Marine Advisor to a major oil company in Norway. Consultant
with Vine Gordon and Gordon, Giles, 1995 – 2002. Has given
expert evidence in the High Court and Arbitrations in London
and New York. He is on the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
Panel of Chartered Arbitrators.

(54m wooden Dhow), Moody custom build yachts, ‘Young Endeavour’
(sail training ship), ‘Chamar’ (56 m TJMY), ‘Philante

‘Xargo’, Sunseeker Powerboats, ‘Debenhams’
